As part of Zaxbys ongoing evolution, we redesigned the menu boards to improve shopability, reinforce brand identity, and drive sales across key categories. This comprehensive update required a strategic design approach across four established different formats—two static and two digital—while ensuring dedicated space for frequently changing limited-time offerings. After multiple rounds of market testing and design refinements, the new menu boards were successfully rolled out to over 950 Zaxbys locations nationwide in October 2024.
By the end of 2024, check averages increased by 1.2%, driven by the Popular and Zalad categories, with Zalad incidences growing 3.9% following the return of the fan-favorite Zensation. The addition of egg rolls (4.9% incidence, 22 DPSA) helped offset sales declines after sunsetting a limited time offering. While initial test data showed a negative impact on the Feed A Crowd section, investment in unique Zax Packz packaging and promotion led to a 5-unit PSPD sales increase with minimal check erosion (4%).
